The American Football Coaches Association released its 2010 preseason poll on Monday and Texas A&M-Kingsville was tabbed at No. 16.
We open our season on September 2 at No. 1 Northwest Missouri State, the defending national champions. NWSU received 22 first place votes, while 2009 national runner-up Grand Valley State received three and comes in ranked No. 2. North Alabama received the final first place vote, and is ranked No. 3, with Minnesota-Duluth and Central Washington rounding out the Top 5.
Abilene Christian (No. 7), West Texas A&M (No. 11) and Midwestern State (No. 19) are the other Lone Star Conference teams in the poll while Texas A&M-Commerce, Tarleton State, Angelo State and Southeastern Oklahoma are all receiving votes.
