We beat the #1 team in the nation at their house 16-7. The Javelinas played great! I don't even know where to start, it was a big time game. Fred had an outstanding catch diving catch over two defenders for the first touchdown of the season. Nate played great! The defense only gave up 7 points against one of the better teams in the nation. We came up here on a mission and the mission was accomplished. We are now on the bus driving back to The Ville. WOW! I was at the game and watched the HOGS demolish #1 (and a very good NWMSU team). Poppell 26-38-0 for 258 yards and 1 TD. The 8 sacks (yep, there were 8) was the highpoint for that swarming defense. Winborn was a workhorse tonight. Great, great win. Yes, I think I can now say WE ARE BACK!

Hog Nation left an imprint in Missouri that won't be forgotten anytime soon!! I'm thinking they are Stunned!!! Great job by all the Hogs-Poppell is a Field General surely no doubts now- Hog Defense was TOUGH to say the least,and give a shout to that offensive line,ANIMALS, can't wait til next week! GO HOGS
ReplyDeleteMissouri crowd stunned might be an understatement! The Governor of Missouri was even in attendance to see the HOGS totally dominate NWMSU! Our defensive unit is awesome. Poppell turned out to be all (and more) than anyone expected. As many in the past has been THIS team is something special!

ReplyDeleteTeam, Coaches, and families that traveled to the game.. I want you to know that the family back home held the fort down.. The support for the Javelinas and the excitement for the game was amazing yesterday, people gathered in groups large and small, had bbq's, turned on the radio, sat in front of the computer and wore blue and gold.. the whole 9..
ReplyDeleteI was so proud to be a Javelina and to know that although so many cannot travel to the out of town games, their support was still as strong.. From the performace of the team I can only assume they felt the support and they knew we were watching and cheering.. The community has wrapped its arms around a team we believe in, We cannot wait to see what this season has in store for us.. Let's Go Hogs :)
That was a great game, our players played well and stuck together. The fans that could make it to the game were great, wearing their blue and holding down their section of the stands. I also got to go to the tailgaiting before it started and saw some fun fans that had their face painted. It was a good atmosphere and a game to remember. Thanks everyone for all your support, we really appreciate it!
