Hogs Hold Position

The Texas A&M-Kingsville football team retained their No. 6 national ranking in the American Football Coaches Assocation poll released on Monday.

The Javelinas (2-0, 1-0) knocked off East Central, 20-7 last week, but did not move up in the rankings. Each of the top five teams in the poll won their games this past weekend.

The Javelinas are one of four Lone Star Conference teams appearing in the poll. They are joined by Abilene Christian (#5), West Texas A&M (#9) and Midwestern State (#12).

The Javelinas will play their season opener this Saturday at 7 p.m. against Texas A&M-Commerce on IBC Bank Hispanic Heritage Day.
