Randle elected to yet another Hall - Richard Oliver, San Antonio Express News
Former Texas A&I University All-American defensive lineman John Randle headlines the 2010 Texas Sports Hall of Fame class unveiled Tuesday. In total, eight honorees will be inducted into the Hall, located in Waco, at a banquet to be announced for next year.
Randle was a two-time Lone Star Conference Lineman of the Year who became a seven-time All-Pro in stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame earlier this year.
In addition to the Hearne native, the class of 2010 includes former Texas women’s athletic director Donna Lopiano, ex-NFL greats Charley Johnson and Emmitt Thomas, late Dallas Cowboys owner Clint Murchison, former Cowboys wide receiver Drew Pearson, one-time Texas Rangers headliner Jim Sundberg, ex-Olympic diver Laura Wilkinson and deceased Negro League baseball star Willie Wells.
