The Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball team plays host to Texas A&M-International on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.
The Javelinas (6-8, 3-2) have won five of their last seven matches, including one on September 14 at the Dustdevils (0-13). The Hoggies have a well-rounded attack that is led by junior Amanda Waclawczyk (Poth/Poth HS) who boasts a .300 attack percentage and 2.19 kills per set. Senior libero Virginia Hernandez (Katy/Katy HS) continues to impress in her defensive role by leading the Lone Star Conference in digs per set with 5.45. She also recently moved into third place on the school’s career digs list and has over 1,400.
Friday night is also Girl Scout Appreciation Night with all Girl Scouts getting into the match for free. The volleyball team will host a pizza party for the girls between sets two and three and will sign autographs and give out media guides after the match.
